Re: Source of Tombo Tremolos

Hello!! Happy holidays and new year for all!!

Getting a Tombo harmonica is a very, very dificult mission in
America. In my country it is dificcult to get any harmonica (including
diatonic, chromatic and tremolo). I went to various music stores, and
incrediblely i couldn't find a harmonica CD!!!

A few minutes ago i received a call from Japan: a japanese
teacher, my wife's friend...She is coming to my city next january, and
my wife ask her to buy for me a Tombo Deluxe Band 1521 C flat (i have
one in C). Surprise!!! Its price is 90 dollars! i had told her it was
about 60 $!!!

I looked at tombo web site, but it says nothing about price...

Their web site says very little about Tombo, but I have bought both
1521s and 3121s from them via telephone-order, and they have been
extremely reliable. 3121s are available in all keys now, by the way,
which is not a very well-known fact.

A guestion: wich is better, tombo 3121 or tombo 1521? Why?

1521 is higher quality. 3121 is about 1/3 the price. 3121 is actually
a more common tremolo timbre right out of the box, because the tremolo
off-tuning is more typical. 1521 off-tuning is much closer, in other
words, less tremolo effect.

Another one: Do you bend notes on tremolo harmonica?

I don't -- I have not been motivated to learn, because tremolos are too
expensive to be breaking reeds :)

Last one: Do you use any tablature for your tremolo harmonica
music? Or only standard music notation?

I use standard or none, usually none.
