Many thanks to the people who replied to my email with a bunch of K5 questions. I called Kawai and they offered to send me a K5M ROM upgrade (from 1.0 to 1.02 I think) for $100. I sent a reply email asking I could simply download the firmware file and burn my own EPROM, since $100 is more than the usual selling price for K5Ms. I offered to sign a silly non-disclosure agreement. Has anyone ever connected any of the petals to the back of the K5? There are four 1/4" phono jacks for petals. Do these act as simple on/off switches, for example connecting the tip to ground when the petal is pressed on? Or are they usually connected to a potentiometer that goes to a analog-to-digital convertor in the K5? I wish the companie's that make synthesizers would tell us these things upfront. I was told that there is now a working Atari ST emulator for PCs that are running Linux. I forget its name but a Google search will probably find it. Thanks again, ------------------------ Yahoo!
