Third party support

Hi And greets to all on this day of Independence.
         More about that after my first request.  There has to be a better 
way to get going on a karma then to read the manuals over and over 
again.  I am fairly musically oriented and also very electronically and 
computer oriented but if you don't got the jingo you can't run the 
machine.  I know there is a basic amount of penance to pay to learn and 
understand that, but I want to learn it correctly.  I think the answers are 
coming to me somewhat intuitively but I would either like a third party 
book, website, or resource person to run through rather than read and hack. 
Suggestions?  I have lots of goals with this instrument. Write and arrange 
music in my head (sequence), use the synth for sounds for pedal boards (2 
octave organ unit), make new sounds and evolve unique ways to incorporate 
them but I need a leg up.  Everything I have read on everything has third 
party stuff and I think a lot of this is just getting use to Midi 
lingo.  It seems apparent that one must have a sequencer computer and 
software, which I have in the form of Cakewalk and a laptop (Toshiba), but 
does one need the MW software to run the appegiator to make guitar strums, 
bango claws etc.  My first round read of the manual left me pretty glassy 
eyed.  Perhaps once I understand the basics I will simple use the manual as 
a resource for code and locations.

         RE the "more" comment.  I am one of those unsatisfied Americans 
with the current American regime. For me today is about taking it back.  I 
am also one of those antiquated Quaker types, but you may ask yourself, 
"don't Quakes avoid music, technology... hardly.  I am just more peace 
oriented and value diplomacy. For me, yes I remember the valored gifts of 
heroic Americans, but simultaneously I think of the events like Kennedy's 
avoidance of global nuclear war via negotiation, Woman's rights to vote via 
activism, Gandhi's retake of his country with nonviolence.  The latter is 
not necessarily American but Martin Luther King Jr. followed Gandhi's lead 
and I think in some ways avoided a lot more bloodshed then could have 
occurred. I don't think that this latter stuff is for this list serve so if
