Eric,
That was a great post. A fellow keyboard buddy and I were discussing that
with good software like KARMA MW, Spectrasonics Atmosphere, Logic (or your
fave DAW), a nice control surface for mixing, a good MIDI keyboard, etc... you
could basically have your favorite components separated without the O (although
I still haven't touched one yet).
Now I'm a more hands-on guy like a lot of us, but if I told my fiancee that
I needed 10K, she knows better and would reply "spend 3-4k and get either
the Triton Extreme or the Yamaha S90 ES." Damn bills always get in the way...
Output routing and signal flow and price points are definitely worth it for
me too. Kinda sucks when you hear these great sounds, and you just can't
route it the way you want to.
I feel pretty good that I have everything I need so far with the Karma,
MS2000B, Virus kC, Roland RD700, and Pro Tools HD7 (at the school, I don't own
that).
I'm keeping your impressions in mind whenever I get the chance to tinkle
those ivories. Thanks a lot Eric!
