   There are a number of really great utilities out there.  One that 
is definitely worth the money (very cheap but very comprehensive) is 
n-Track.  Check it out.  Just do a google search or go to fasoft.  I 
have both Legacy collections and their great.  I see you've 
downloaded the demo.  The digital edition dongle and registration can 
be a pain in the ass at the moment and I really hope Korg does 
something about it (one computer at a time for some).
    Now if you do get into soft synths etc., there are some great 
freebies out there.  Again, just do a google search on "free VSTi". 
Also try to connect with fastclick software weekly.  You'll have to 
wade through the crap but sometimes you can get some really 
interesting stuff.  In addition, KLF and KF (Korg Forums - the old 
IA) have threads/forums dedicated to software.
    Before you invest a ton on a card, you might want to investigate 
the latest USB interfaces many of which come with software utilities 
and VSTi.  Finally, download MIDIOX and the latest ASIO.

As for me, I prefer hardware and for characters like me, the 
transition to software can be trying.  Stick with it, though.  The 
results can be very rewarding.
