Sequencer recording while in combi mode question

I am pretty new to the KARMA and have not delved into manuals yet....

Can I have the Combi mode on and record the notes I play with the
internal sequencer ?   Seems when I go into sequencer mode, I am in
preset instead of combi mode.....
