  Hi all:
    Looks like the Tutorials at Sudosonic have come down a little in price.  I have to say that I'm not sure I learned much from them BUT they were worth it just as far as comfort level diving into that little screen on my KARMA.
    I'm sure that until you get the CDs or someone posts a video we can begin to walk you through setting up drum tracks.  Sorry no one answered your question at KARMA-LAB but maybe it's been asked before and the answer is tucked away in a thread. 
    My drum tracks are never very good because I struggle with playing the drum samples like a real drummer would play them since I'm not a drummer.  Personally I would start with a Combi that already has KARMA playing close to what I want, record that and then edit the tracks, add fills, twist a knob in realtime, etc. There are many approaches and you can make it as complicated or as simple as you wish.
    Do you already have a comfort level with the sequencer doing bass/lead lines??  If not, you should start by finding a combi, hitting ENTER/RECORD and see just how slick the Sequencer is - you can't break it. 
    The basics would be:
  1) Find a drum kit that you like
  2) Hit Enter/Record (isn't that the shortcut) to set up the sequencer
  3) Play several measures of just a basic kick and snare don't get too fancy
  4) Isolate 2 to 4 measures that you like your playing on (delete the measures you don't need). . a neat technique from the CDs. . 
  5) Set the sequencer preferences to overdub and start adding high hats, etc.
  6) The sequencer can be set to quantize your playing (put it right on the beat) beforehand or you can quantize the track (Track Edit function) afterwords.  Thank God for the undo function here as this can be tricky!
  7) You can go deeper still and pull up the notes to edit and move them, make them shorter, add velocity, delete them, etc.
  8) You can take those 2 measures you just perfected and copy them until they are the length of your song (or do a chorus and verse pattern pasting them together or running them as seperate songs in the Que List).
   
  It's hard to know where you are getting stuck - could be step 1 or step 8; please tell us and we'll go from there with assistance trying to get you doing exactly what you want to do : ).  After one gets the basics down they can build the track using loop record, etc. depends on how good of a drummer emulator you are
