I have the same problem with my KARMA, and actually had to retire it from gigging, for that reason.
I'm hoping it's dirty contacts, and can just be cleaned up, if not I'll either have to live with it, or send it back to Korg, which scares me a lot, Fed Ex, and UPS are notorious for mishandling my expensive gear.

KARMA TOO , AND HAD AN SECOND HAND TOO NOW I SELLED IT .

THE PROBLEM IS NORMAL IN OLDS KORG KARMAS , YOU HAVE TO PUSH WITH 
MORE INTENS, AND TIME , FOR THE BUTTON CHANGE.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IN THIS OLD KARMA
IN THE NEW I HAVEN´T IT

NOW I HAVE TOO THE KORG M3 , AND HAVE A NEW PROBLEM WITH THE 
BUTTONS , IS USUALLY IN ALL OF THEM , THE PAINT ON THE BUTTONS GO IF 
YOU PUSH AL OT OF IN ONE OF THEM. I HAVE TWO BUTTONS TRANSPARENT , OR 
WHITE COMPLETLY.
