Hi, all:
  Another $.02 after wonderful suggestions thus far. . . . could it be a sticky value slider?  Owning a JD800, I'm all too familiar with this "ghost in the machine" situation.  IF the values that change happen to be whatever page you are on, then maybe that paramater is active and the value slider is giving them bad commands.  Just work the slider up and down and maybe research a lubricant for it (?)
