Hey Bill,

thanx for you answer and support.

Am I reading right that your K2VX is keeping the contents of the sample memory after a power off/power on cycle? That would mean a lot. Incidentally, I read in a datasheet this morning that some DRAM chips do have a battery back-up feature. From there to having a battery-backed sample RAM, there may be quite a long path; but the one who never dreams and hopes seldom goes and find new territory.

Regarding VAST programmer: do you have the source code? What are your projects regarding it?

I have not found any ROM for the K2000 on Kurzweil's website. If there are any, I would be very interested. Actually, even just the release dates and release notes of the ROMs would be of no little interest to me!

I thought the latest version released of the OS ROM was 3.87 in 99; if YC sent you something in 2001, it must have been the latest also; hence your mentioning that you got a new EPROM is startling to me. Any newer than 3.87?
