If you still have old mid gear make sure you get yourself a multiport midi interface of some sort because windows only supports up to 9 midi devices....meaning 9 SINGLE devices at a time ....so if you have (For instance) a MOTU MTP/AV USB midi timepiece, you can plug 8 MIDI devices into that and then plug the MOTU into you computer and you Win computer only sees it as one single device ...I know, I figured it out the hard way :-) ...
