These posts explain a lot. It seems it is the same hardware technology only with much greater processing power such that it is optimized.

In one older post he says (To paraphrase)there is not a hardware sound generator available that would work well with the triple play. 

But now they have come out with a floor unit for this purpose, so I guess whatever obstacles were there must be gone now.I wonder what they were?

Do they have a bundle yet of the triple play with the floor unit?
That would make sense for a new user.
