This is not true. I think that this sentence "not a hardware sound generator available that would work well with the triple play. “ mean that just now FTP couldn’t works with MIDI 5 DIN hardware as a all-in-one  Fishman product. 

I use without problem FTP with Motif XS, Blofeld, old Yamaha FB-01. But I must use third party hardware >>> iConnect MIDI4+ in my case.
