John Carpenter/Alan Howarth

Always wanted to try playing some of the music Carpenter and Howarth created for the Halloween movies.  That pulsing hypnotic creepy synth in particular.  Ive experimented with 2 Roland GR1s combined with a Boss Tremolo/Pan.  The GR1s noteshift makes it possible to attempt this music also.


I know nothing of programing, outside the GR1.  Never used a step sequencer, which is what I think they used, along with a roomful of other gear.  


Is there anybody on this list that can give me suggestions on equipment to use?  Heck Id be happy to do it just with my computer, if that be an easy way to do it.   Thanks for any input!
