My 2 cents. I stopped using Macs  a bunch of years ago, and am now only
using windows. So for me, if I were looking, it would have to support
windows...don't get me wrong. I own apple stock, so I like to see them get
back on the horse,  but for use, it is windows...

So interface and engine are separate products. The interface may be unique
to iOS, hard to port to Windows. The engine may resemble ones already
available for Windows. Its being specific for guitar reminds me of products
like Guitar Pro, <https://www.guitar-pro.com/>, but in my (outdated and
probably incomplete) view, the specialist in physical modeling software
instruments is Applied Acoustic Systems, <https://www.applied-acoustics
com/>. Don't know where Yamaha (including Steinberg) is now.

That's not an exact answer to your question, James, but it's the best that I
can give.

The entire line of AAS products is among the few software synthesizers for
desktop computers (Windows and macOS) that I have kept upgrading, hoping to
resume making music.
