Hi Chris
Yes, of course I realise that pitch to midi is different from separate output channels.
A sensible guitar synth has to be able to work in original 'Midi mode 4' for me, and anything else is an unnaceptable compromise. Separate channels are a necessity, and unless each has its own channel (Mode 4) for me, then it's not much use. (hence my criticism of Jam Origin)
I realise this is not the case for everyone, but IMO a guitar synth should take the expression of a guitar and apply it to other voices.
Few do, IMO but I think Fishman with Omnisphere is about the best I have ever heard and together, they come close to sounding exceptional..
I have owned most of the Roland efforts over the decades, and also a SynthAxe with full console and pedalboard, and being able to bend within a chord is essential.(and being able to bend a single string within a chord with right hand increased trigger pressure is also superb on the SynthAxe.)
Now I play Starr Labs Ztars almost exclusively, and layering and assigning {pseudo-strings} to different midi zones is paramount, and this makes the Ztar a unique and wonderful instrument. (not least because it can play many notes per string)
Of course, I realise that some people are happy not to be able to assign zones and bend within other held notes on a 'stringed' midi controller.. ( the Ztar cannot bend using left hand except via joystick) So personally, Fishman 3play with a FC1 floorboard seems the way to go in a stringed controller, and Jam Origin, in comparison, is not of any use for me, and until it can derive multiple channels from somewhere (via its jack lead) then it won't ever be.. This sort of technology just sending on one channel IMO has not progressed much since efforts like You Rock Guitar..
