Hi, midi is a digital signal, so there should be no a/d latency incurred
(sample buffering, conversion,..).
So saying, I would choose an interface from a reputable brand. I have used
the cakewalk um2, and currently use the Steinberg midex8, work perfectly.
Never measured the latency, but never felt the need to quantify anything.
