To add to my point...
Midi latency has never been an issue for me. But the cheaper interfaces can
display jitter - i.e. occasional delays in midi notes.
I don't know if that's due to driver or hardware, but generally, reputable
brands have better hardware and better drivers, and thus, are less prone to
jitter...
