The usual 3 problems with SB3/SB Classic

1. PSU failure - a PSU may look to be OK (e.g. measure voltage when
unconnected) ) but cannot deliver correct volts/amps when running.
Replacement PSU are cheap if you cannot test suspect PSU with another SB
Classic - it is worth buying. If there is no red light in optical
connection - then PSU is definitely faulty.

2. WLAN failure - there is a WLAN card for Wifi. If this fails (even if
Wifi not used) - thensscreen goies dark. The WLAN card is socketed and
can be removed easily (only require a Torx T10) and SB Classic can be
tested using Ethernet connection. Replacement WLAN cards are cheap
although a bit harder to find. now.

3. Capacitors - there are a number of capacitors in SB Classic which are
prone to fail - they are "easy" to replace but you need soldering skills
- otherwise there are good instruction on Web which can be given to a
repair shop. If you are in Europe - JoeMuc2009 can repair
