Hi all, It's a Pi4, about a year old. The library is on a 3.5" 2TB drive in a dock, 59k files, 855 GB. What I meant about the SD card for library purposes is that the Cache is on the SD card, not on the drive with the library, sorry for my clumsy words. The UPS (APC, 600VA) is more than capable of handling the various things on it, mainly electronics. When the power goes off it can maintain them all for at least three hours. Nothing plugged in draws much power (e.g. the drive dock, the Pi, the router, the internet "radio". The last probably draws the most, but it's not much. And now comes the AHA! I went to check the power handling capability of the UPS and discovered that the dock with the music drive was in fact plugged into a surge-only outlet, not a battery outlet. Sigh. The obvious problem. Sorry for the trouble! R.
