Sorry! I don't know how I managed to get my initial test wrong, but I knew it had been done hurriedly, and that's why I expressed uncertainty about it. No, I now find that if you try to play a playlist that contains files that are not included in your currently library view, those files will not play. It looks like the Disks and folders option is probably your best bet, after all. Usually running latest beta LMS nightly on Raspberry Pi OS with virtual players (Squeezelite and Airplay bridge).
