But I agree that it would be nice to have a mode whereby you could use the << and >> buttons to fast-forward and reverse *within* a track rather than skipping tracks (which I think should be the default behavior for those buttons). That special mode could display the elapsed and total times as well as potentially a visual progress bar. You could support 2x 4x 8x as well I suppose. Perhaps this mode could be one of our default DISP modes? (with the ability to turn if off per SliMP3 if desired) Save a button that way... So many ideas!
