RE: Is the stream data a valid MP3 file?

Strange. Even an MP3 file with bad data in it can usually be played by
Winamp, even if it skips and jumps along the way because of the bad data.
Have you tried receiving everything exactly as the server sends it, dumping
to a file and dropping into Winamp?
