The device screen shows what was there the last time it was powered-
up (results of a ping attempt from my Win2K machine, just to see if 
the device was still on the network).

The CMD window (DOS box) in which the server is running says nothing 
at all, not even the "New client" message that I get with 1.0 as soon 
as I touch the remote.  I'm not trying to run the server as a daemon; 
is the server also creating a logfile somewhere?

Win2K SP2, with ActiveState perl v5.6.1.
