Sorry for not following up earlier, but yesterday I
went up to Lake Tahoe visiting some friends. :-)
I saw the proposals to put the songs in question
together in one song and I agree, that this is
a valid solution.
But I would like to have both possibilities. Some-
thing like:
- Shuffle off
- Shuffle all songs (like it is now)
- Shuffle all songs, but don't touch tagged groups
I have currently implemented the third option, but
as mentioned earlier, I'm using the grouping ID3
tag in lack of a better one.
My 'solution' modifies the shuffle function in the
following way. When the function goes through the
playlist swapping songs and finds a song with the
grouping tag set, it ignores that song and continues
with the next one. If the randomly choosen position
for a song happens to be a song with the tag set,
I let the random generation run again, until it
finds a position that can be used.
What do you think about that idea?
And is there a better ID3 tag that could be used
for my idea?
