For now, I've decided on the highest quality VBR, VBR-0 stereo. 
(Well, I need to listen to the channel seperation/imaging to see 
if "dual-stereo" is with worth the heavy price - I hope not.)

I haven't noticed any glitches except when using the high, constant 
rate encodings.
