Problems with the player stopping

My player was working fine for a couple weeks, but now it seems to be 
randomly stopping in the middle of a song.

It plays the song for a little bit, but soon the player freezes.  I am 
still able to use the menu and turn the player off and on, it's just that 
the song stops.

I ran tcpdump when it was in the "stopped" state.  I saw the server sending 
182-octet sized packets to the player's IP address, over and over.  After 
looking at those packets, they seem to be display updates of some kind, 
since they have the track title in them (alternating with bytes that are 03 
in hex.)

Anyone have any ideas?
