I just can repeat the words of all others on this point. But probably 
the most advantage you will have is the open source of the code. So, 
there are a lot of good Perl people around to improve the SliMp3. You 
will participate on all that goodies they wrote. And my experiences I 
made with the guys of SliMp3 or any other from the user group is very 
good. Help is always quick available.
