Play single song then quit (from command line)?

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has created a little perl script that would
allow you to run a command line that plays one song and then stops.

I just want to be able to type something like:
>singleplay.pl mp3file.mp3

The sliMP3 would play that one song and then just sit there and wait.
The script would quit as soon as the song was played. I don't need any
other functions in there (no IR or http support). 

Can that be done or not? I am having difficulty cutting out all of the
unneeded code from the existing server code.
