Aha.  If you are using iTunes, don't specify a path to the folder and 
make sure that you've got iTunes selected in the server setup.

Is it possible you have the preference pane installed twice?  Once for 
the system and once for the user?

No.  But if you don't have iTunes checked off in the server settings, 
then you will see this problem.
