Regarding Jamiroquai themselves...
I think the music they've made, and what they're producing presently, is
maybe something that appeals to a certain social group. When they first appeared
on the scene, there was the whole Acid Jazz vibe, and other connected genres
that people were into. The 90s was more about music that was raw, or lyrics
with an eco-message. The music we're into now is certainly more Rock
influenced, but it's also very electronic. Jamiroquai have moved with the times.
This past album is some of the best material they've brought out for years.
Maybe they can't compete with the current trend for New Wave/Rock/Electronica?
Regarding the fans ... well, I'm still a fan!! I love them, and each song
and album brings me good feelings and warm memories. High Times, Good Vibes!
Yeah, there have been times when I've been pissed off about certain things,
I'm not complaining now. My comments this week were more of an observance
than a negative opinion. My teens and most of my 20s have been all about this
band and the great friends I've made. I don't think anybody who loves this
band and has the opportunity to see them more often takes that for granted.
Maybe it is harder for people in other parts of the world who don't get to see
them often, but there are good things and bad things about being where you are
too. Swings and roundabouts, Cesar! I agree with some of the other
comments, this generation is older and we don't have so much spare time anymore. I
hope some of the hardcore fans stay hardcore though, so we can still go to
gigs in our 50s! Jamiroquai will be like The Rolling Stones!
