I do not envy Jamiroquai right now, theyre gonna be knackered by the end of June! No wonder Toby left now rather than the end of the tour. This weeks newsletter is gonna be rubbish, cos Im writing in a state of delirium. I dont think I can sleep! No news as yet on the release date of the next single. ------------------------------------------------ THE STORY OF JAMIROQUAI ------------------------ Nik Hunt reports: I just had a weird couple of e-mails, firstly they sent me this press release saying that they were showing the history of Jamiroquai on Monday... and then quick as a flash, they sent another one saying they were postponing it for another day. Still, at least it's good that they are showing the programme at all! :) ------------------------ fansite inside info WHAT? The Story of Jamiroquai WHERE? MTV UK WHEN? Monday 13th @ 9.30pm Tune in to MTV UK on Monday 13th of May @ 9.30pm and catch MTV as they chronicle the rise to chart dominance of one of the UKs finest acts. The Story of Jamiroquai is part of MTVs Story of series in which MTV pay homage to great giants of pop. This Monday its the turn of those disco funkers: Jamiroquai. Their global success surpasses that of Oasis, Travis and probably even the Spice Girls yet people just perceive the band as just being that prat in the hat. This month, MTV sets the record straight and presents the real Jamiroquai story look and learn! Discover how and why the band with the golden-tonsilled singer and the solid gold bank accounts have conquered the world with MTVs encyclopaedic The Story of Jamiroquai. No new leads as to when that will be shown, but look out for it. MTV will also be reporting live from the 2 German festivals that Jamiroquai are playing. For MTV Germany, of course! ------------------------------------------------ THE DATES KEEP COMING ----------------------- This is really starting to get out of hand! Are you finding it hard to keep up too? This must be the most exhausting Jamiroquai tour schedule ever. Anyway, here goes Nicked this from Funkin: "Sola Akingbola's web site has listed a number of European tour dates, which have not yet been announced elsewhere. Although some of the dates are "subject to change", here are the new dates that have not previously been announced on this site... 6 July - St Jakobs Stadium in Basel (Switzerland), 10 July - Idroscalo, Milan (Italy), 12 July - Stadio Adriatico in Abruzzo (Italy), 26 July - Velodromo in Palermo, Sicily (Italy), 27 July - Arena Mare in Sicily (Italy), 29 July at the Piazza in Lucca (Italy)." Another UK date!! Yes! Nottingham, 21st July http://www.cityinthepark.com/ Rumours abound of a new London date, although its also on the same day as they play Marley Park in Dublin! Both are scheduled for 20th July. The Montreux Jazz Festival appearance isnt sold out, as it may appear on the official Montreux website. You can still buy tickets from the French music store website, www.fnac.com, or www.francebillet.com. Do a search for Jamiroquai, then dig out your A Level French text books ! All Ealing competitions are over. Even Uber-fan David Rowe ran a comp on his site! So, congrats to all the lucky people, and a very real feeling of sadness to all those who really want to be there. I think they should run similar competitions in other countries so they can experience this kind of intimate gig, but who will listen to me?
