Ahhhhhhhh! Its Sunday and Im still buzzing! The Homecoming gig was absolutely superb, thanks to you guys for all your nice comments about my not-so-detailed-as-usual review! As Jamiroquai go from strength to strength, starting their hectic European summer tour, I would like to wish you all the same feeling of happiness I am feeling right now. I love this band, dont you? Ezbe :-) ------------------------------------------------ In this edition: - MATT JOHNSON - THE FIGHT - POST-CARLING - MORE NEWS - TOUR DATES AND APPEARANCES ------------------------------------------------ MATT JOHNSON ------------- Finally, we can tell you about our lovely new keyboard player! His name is Matt Johnson. He is a good friend of Rob Harriss from way back, and hes also worked with Beverley Knight, amongst others. And hes really good! Anyone whos going to see them play over the summer, Ill let you be the judge, but you will not be disappointed. Oh, and according to Simon The Blagger Baronti OH MY GOD !!!! It all makes sense now... One thing that was driving me bananas about Matt Johnson is that he DID look familiar...I mean.... I HAD seen him or even met him b4, and I couldn't remember where !!!.... The link just says it all - Ola Onabule ! When me and my band were still doing our stuff (knocked it on the head now), we actually played support to Ola and his band at the 100 Club in Oxford Street.... that's when during sound check Frankie Tonto (drummer with Craig David) was running really late, so I had to play the drums with them !! Anyway, I digress.... THAT'S WHERE I KNOW HIM FROM !!! Matt Johnson - he was playing KEYS.... cool !!!! Next time I see him - most probably Montreux - I'll ask if he remembers ! LOL... Not that I actually care, but it did scare me on Wednesday morning when the possibility of the Ealing gig being cancelled was brought up! Theyve also filmed interviews with people connected to the band and some fans. Apparently, the show will consist of 70% music and 30% talking and other things. The MTV show The Story of Jamiroquai, mentioned in last weeks newsletter, will be shown this Sunday 19th May at 3pm BST on MTV UK. **UK DATE ALERT** All that fuss last week about Dublin or Crystal Palace, and it turns out to be Finsbury Park!! Yes, the boys will be playing a show on Saturday 20th July at the celebrated venue of the 1997 Jam In The Park gig. Why is it every time I see such a good gig coming along, I get excited?
