That fine web site funkin.com is nominated for 
awards in both the Top Of The Pops Top Fansite 
Award 2002 and the Interactive Music Awards 
People's Choice Award. If you appreciate the 
content on funkin.com, then please spend a couple 
of minutes and vote for the site in both awards. 

(It only takes a couple of minutes to vote for 
both awards, so if you've ever downloaded video
clips or enjoyed any of the content at the site, 
then this is the perfect way to say thank you - 
and if you vote and I win, I promise I'll thank 
you personally in my acceptance speech ;)

Currently funkin.com is lying in 8th place in the
Top Of The Pops awards with just under 100 votes 
and the current leader has almost 500!  Anyone in

LIVE IN VERONA DVD INFORMATION
------------------------------
If you live in Europe or Australia, then you 
should be able to get your hands on the Live In
Verona DVD concert video very very soon.

Browsing through the recent messages on Jamline,
it looks like the Live in Verona DVD is currently
only being made available as a PAL format region
2-6 release so won't be compatible with US
players/TV's. If you live in the US and want to
watch the DVD, it looks like you'll need to have a
DVD drive on your computer that can play non-
region 1 discs.  This is a real pain for the many
US fans out there and just serves as another 
virtual nail in the coffin with regard to the 
support the band get from that side of the Atlantic.

Frenchiroquai got a copy of the DVD a few days early
and has posted online a length review (in French) 
together with a selection of images from the DVD.

Sony Music France have also made available a short
clip from the DVD on their web site.

AUSTRALIA REVIEWS
-----------------
Jamiroquai have hit Australia with full force, just 
like at the start of the year.  Starting out in 
Perth on Thursday, they then flew east to Adelaide
for a gig on Saturday night.  There's a couple of
reviews of Perth at some web site (er, funkin.com)
and some great stories from Adelaide have been
posted to the regular Jamline mailing list.

SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE CONCERT COMPETITION

SOUTH AFRICA LOWDOWN

UK female DJ Smokin Jo recently flew out to South
Africa to play at the Jamiroquai concert after-
show parties, and she has just put on her web site
details of what she got up to whilst the band were

AUSTRALIAN ROVE LIVE APPEARANCE
-------------------------------
Jamiroquai will be appearing on Rove Live on
Channel 10 in Australia on 19 of November at
21:30. If you want to be part of the pre-recording
audience at 6pm in Melbourne (as the band are
playing a concert that night) contact Amber at

AUSTRALIAN DRUM CLINICS WITH DERRICK AND SOLA
---------------------------------------------
As announced a few days ago, Sola and Derrick are
doing some sessions and masterclasses whilst in
Australia and here are the full details - SYDNEY:
Thursday 14th November - masterclasses with Sola
at "Savage", 182 Campbell Street, Surrey Hills.
From 14:00. Cost $50 plus booking fee. Tickets
available from Andy at Savage on 02 9357 6700.
Saturday 16th November - joint session with Sola
and Derrick held at "The Basement" - Reiby place,
Circular Quay, Sydney. Cost $22 plus booking fee
from The Basement on 02 9251 2797. MELBOURNE:
Sunday 17th November - masterclasses with Sola at
"Metropolis" - 180 Bank St. South Melbourne - from
11:30. Cost $50 plus booking fee. For tickets
contact Nikki 03 9696 2397 between 10:00-18:00
Mon-Fri. Later the same afternoon at 16:00 there
will be a joint session with Derrick and Sola at
"Revolver Upstairs" - first floor 229 Chapel St
Prahran. Cost $22 plus booking fee. Tickets are

between 10:00-17:00. The events are organised by
Masoniq Productions and for if you require further

CANNABLISS WILL MAKE YOU FEEL ALRIGHT

Just before heading to Australia, Jamiroquai played
a couple of gigs in Japan and some sneaky (but 
very nice people) made some recordings of a two
previously unheard (online at least) tracks.

One of the tracks is called "Cannabliss"
- a mixture of the words Cannabis (the drug), and
Bliss (extreme happiness).

Audience recordings of Cannabliss and another
track called Funk Odyssey, together with scans
of the set lists from the gigs are available

MONTREUX LOVE FOOLOSOPHY
------------------------
OK, this is an order!  Go and download the 
funkiest version of Love Foolosophy that I've 
ever heard.  It's recorded from the July
Montreux Jazz Festival concert and contains
not one, but two of those super cool funky 
endings first heard at the Carling Homecoming 
gig in May this year. In addition to a pro-shot
video clip of this from Japanese TV, there is 
also an MP3 encoded of the track.

TOBY SPEAKS OUT, BUT IT GETS PUBLISHED 11
MONTHS LATER!

Jay made it onto the front cover of the 26
October - 04 November issue of Rave magazine
(Australia). Inside the magazine there is a full
page interview with Toby from the end of 2001
before he left the band earlier this year. In the
interview he talks about how he likes to be
anonymous and let Jay get all the attention. He
talks about the evolution of the band's music.
"Our biggest criticism is that we haven't changed
from the public, that Jamiroquai sounds the same
all the time. And yet the biggest criticism from
our own fans is that we've changed too much and we
don't sound like we did ten years ago! You can't
really win. We have to do it for ourselves now."

THE COMPLETE ODYSSEY
--------------------
With every tour in Australia comes a new 
Jamiroquai release - this time a 5 album box set
called The Complete Odyssey.  The box set is 
packaged in a "stunning silver box", and should be
available now in Australia.  For those outside of 
the land down under, I ordered my copy from 
Sanity.com.au.


STAR IN A REASONABLY PRICED CAR - THE RESULT
--------------------------------------------
BBC television (UK) broadcast on 27 October an 
interview and some footage of Jay driving around a
test track as part of the Top Gear show. In the
"Star In A Reasonably Priced Car" feature, Jay
raced around the test track only two seconds
slower than a professional racing driver, but he
still managed to drive the car off the track in an
earlier test drive! In a interview also shown, Jay
spoke about his collection and how he became
interested in cars from a very early age.
