building up over the years

Speaking of Kate, 
I was just noting, this morning, 
that when I'm counting my favorite albums of all time on the fingers of one
hand, I end up with 

Joni's Hissing,
Kate's Dreaming,
Jane's Walking

-- in chronological order.

Now, along with the case that these three masterworks are the creations of
Excellent Women, who are going for the dynamic Gerunds, it also happens
that these 3 ladies build up, over the years, to these 3 stunning
achievements. 
	Like those cute Beatles, who built up, over 4 years (1963 > 1967) to the
apex of Sergeant Pepper & Magical Mystery tour. 

	Whereas almost all my other fave albums are either the first or second
albums, which are then followed promptly by decline, burn out, etc. 
	You know, 'cause they all rushed off to snort mounds of coke in their So
Cal trophy houses, whilst being indulged by groupie sex-slaves, the harvest
of success, and lost their minds and ambition in the process.
