I actually saw Joni in concert during this tour (Providence, late summer '79) and to this day what I remember most is being transported, almost spiritually, by the song "Shadows and Light" as it was done in person. And I remember hearing it on the record, some time afterwards (I didn't own "Hissing" at that point, sorry to say!), and almost feeling like it was a different song, or that maybe I had somehow inflated it in my memory into something it wasn't. Probably would be nice to do as Bruce suggests and watch the DVD. Thanks for the suggestion! I love this album - probably my favorite live album of all time. "Black Crow" is tremendous. "Shadows and Light" is better than the studio version - it really comes alive. This is Joni at the peak of her game, and it is an amazing band. ________________________________________________________________________ AOL now offers free email to everyone.
