As was noted Kai was done in studio: Laz + 3 Japanese guys I'm not familiar with (collectively known as Kuuru Crew I think?). Bass & Drums was from a live show (Laz, Nakamura, Yamaki). The latter was improv & I suspect the other was as well though obviously they had more opportunity to tweak/mold the results. I like both & maybe Kai more. For some reason the Tokyo Rotation improvs have usually turned out well IMO - actually "gel-ing" & "constructing" nice grooves rather than just wild playing in different directions. Not necessarily every day listening stuff though! I've not found either in flac. I try to avoid mp3's whenever possible. But thanks for the links

This is something that was discussed in the past.��Part of the limitation was that in order for it to be done 'right', there would need to be some time spent with the recordings (whether mixing, mastering or what have you) and that's something Bill didn't have time for. Which would leave it to someone like Bob Musso who also has a lot on his plate.��In short though, nothing is ever off the table.�

Unless you live in Japan or Europe there's not that many Laz live shows to get to!
