Oups, wrong link... This one should work.. Http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_quality.shtml

I am abandonning the idea of archiving files on CDR in favor of moving FLAC files on TB HD. If you can afford it, a RAID 5 solution will insure you a reliable self-healing data backup. My solution, not RAID, is built on 3 x 1TB HD (main, backup and backup2). One of the TB HD is fire and flood/waterproof. Each album(directories) owns its checksum file. I perform a yearly maintenance routine to insure data integrity. This is easily launch and performed by checksum program. I came accross replacing 1 HD in the last 5 years. All in all it is less work than burning CD, printing covers and it will save you a lot of CD shelf space which I keep for real official releases.

Soon hd will also be replaced by SSD which will eliminate the motor from this media. The Cloud is in no way a viable solution.

What are your backup solution?
