God, I love this 1st tk. on Edgar's 'Macula Transfer' (but can't get into rest of LP, yet). The so-called 'Screaming Insanity' boot from Jansen Uni.76 is also ace despite sound quality. Must try find the piece where he's in his back garden or somewhere too........what was that called again? Ah yes it's Sobornost (1981) - Solo TV performance in Germany .......
All this on youtube....and the '4pm Jam' from 'Particles' sure has it's moments, interesting......
Cliff, have you not checked out Peter's LP?
David, your post made my day, great stuff, thanks! Pretty horrible times these days, and had to stay up to await delivery of LP/CD of Herr Baumann, but as always when I have to do that - no delivery. Rotten.
So while I wait to listen properly, I must say, I only know of 3 versions, just LP, CD, and both combined, which I forgot to say can still be had from juno.co.uk for the price of an LP, good deal......maybe this is the white vinyl, hope not........
It is v.strange no one had commented on the album.
I wonder why he didn't join TD as he'd said?
Yes it's a pity it's not more than 42 mns or so, but Thank Christ there's no goddamn dance/techno influence at least!
Maybe people were wary after his last 2 LP's (and maybe people have migrated to trendy horrible facebook).
I had got R76 & THN some years back and thought THN crap........
M of D thankfully, to me was much closer to what one would hope for.
But I need a proper listen. Hope that can happen manana.....
So no one knows a way to search for posts anymore?
And the vile scrolling like on fb, replaced the lined-up pages.
Like, why make it harder/impossible to check history? Quite sinister really.
Hmm, listening to this Quantas tk. on Macula, reminds me how plenty TD and Edgar stuff was quite 'dark'. I see some complain Machines is.......
Hope to hear more views on it........thx for the responses

I was excited to hear about the album when it was first announced, but its release might have been eclipsed by all the chatter about whether to not Peter might be returning to TD. There were also so many different version released I think people may have been confused about which to order.
It is an enjoyable retro flashback, but I was a bit disappointed in how short it was (like a 70s album), and I didn’t notice any substantial musical development since that time. It sounded a lot like his late 70s work, with updated sounds.
Maybe he just needs time to get up to speed on the new technology, to do something more groundbreaking. Perhaps more releases are to come. I am glad I bought it, but was also glad I didn’t go for one of the deluxe packages that was offered.

Hi ghostas
This place is pretty dead these days. I've not seen anyone commenting on anything useful or interesting for a few weeks, maybe months
Certainly can't remember any reviews/comments about Machines of Desire.
Official forum had some comments but not many
