In Search of Hades was an irresistable proposition. Tons of live material a=

I was on Facebook for 5 years but realized how unbelievably addictive and a=
ntisocial it really is. Their insistence on one "Real Name" account and eve=
rything you share being visible by friends, family, acquaintances, coworker=
s, and customers is creating a dangerous brew of unrest and unmanageable ch=
aos. And Mark Zuckerberg does not care in the slightest. He's laughing all =
the way to the bank as our society is literally torn apart. So I've come to=
have a renewed respect in siloed mailing lists and forums like this which =
let us share different facets of our personalities without sharing "everyth=
ing".

I'm currently not on Facebook, and even when I very occasionally login to m=
y partner's account to check on friends and a gardening group I started, bo=
th the Zest and the TD Bootleg group are now sadly locked out unless you ar=
e specially invited. This seems insular and suboptimal, so at this point I'=
m oblivious to what's going on in the TD community except what little is po=
sted here. I'd hate to see the group go away.

I=E2=80=99ll concur that the groups work well =E2=80=93 as Chris suggests, =
you can almost completely avoid the =E2=80=9Csocial=E2=80=9D part of FB and=
enjoy the groups, but it doesn=E2=80=99t hurt to =E2=80=9Cfollow=E2=80=9D =
musicians like Paul Haslinger, Robert Waters, and Ulrich Schnauss.=C2=A0 Th=
ere is good participation from members of the group as well in the Zest.=C2=
=A0 I=E2=80=99ve posted some questions and was surprised to have TQ answer =
them himself.
That said, I=E2=80=99ve been a member on here since UWP days in =E2=80=9992=
=E2=80=93 I=E2=80=99ve made some good friendships with people=C2=A0 on her=
e..=C2=A0 Hopefully it can continue in some other form.

Yeah, I've been here since the UWP days, though mostly on 'lurk' mode as th=
ere's not enough time in the day... I participated in the Trees/Leaves dist=
ro and have managed to collect huge quantities of bootleg recordings via me=
mbers of the group over the years.
The two facebook groups are pretty good, and you can join FB and these grou=
ps without getting involved in anything else that happens on FB (just amend=
the settings). I don't post anything on a personal level, have turned off =
notifications, and don't pay attention to anything else on the site unless =
it relates to my day job.....
The two main sites (if you're interested) are:
The Zest - general discussion, and helpful for staying on top of official r=
eleases, including all ex-members and the Behind Closed Doors sessions that=

The second group has had quite a few interesting recordings appear over the=
last couple of years (better quality than the Leaves/Trees, or previously =
uncirculated). It looks like Wouter may not be posting any further download=
s on there as some of his remasters have been bootlegged commercially, but =
you never know. Some others on the page have also posted stuff, including a=
colour version of the Athens 1983 TV special...=20

original TADREAM UWP list in the '90s and has been quite the ride since.=C2=
=A0 I'd say that a quarter century (or more?) has been quite a good run con=
sidering how quickly the internet has grown and evolved in that time.
Maybe we can somehow keep in touch in another way?
