I was looking for a server-based solution. I am familiar with aliases on
the clients. Surely there is a way that I can have the server convert
the strings to lower case. If someone could point me at the right file
to look at, I have a good deal of programming and scripting experience.

1) Make sure the host names in bb-hosts is lower case (so network
tests
are reported to lower case name)
2a) in *nix systems for each client, use the bb syntax "alias" (or
aliasname, close any way) to have that client report in the way you
want.
2b) for windows clients, you are allowed to configure the hostname the
results are reported as.

You should be able to find the exact format by searching the bb
documents for alias.
