gmp with beep

Hi,

I hope this is the right mailinglist for this posting.
I couldn't find enough information to solve my problems and I think there is no beep-newsgroup.

I want to design a Group Membership Protocol with Beepcore.
Is there a possibilty to multicast to multiple peers? 
Let's say, a peer establishes a connection to all the other groupmembers and opens a channel ("groupchannel") with the same channel_id to all of them. Do all groupmembers receive the message sent on the groupchannel?

By the way, is it necessary that a groupmember has to have a direct connection to the rest of the group?

Sorry for the questions, but I really don't know if Beep is suitable for implementing a Group Membership Protocol.
