No.

'\r\n' termination should be properly done throughout the implementation.

Perhaps your assumption is based on the debug output? If so, remember that
your terminal might convert or strip unnecessary line termination characters. 
For example, this means that if you using the mouse in X mark and copy text
from an xterm, you won't be getting a true copy of the actual data.
