autoconf >= 2.5 will look for configure.ac

Do you only have libpython.so? If so I guess you can't have multiple
python version installed.

My debian system has that file. I have to do some research to find the
recommended way of linking with the correct library.

I have committed some more changes to the pyrr cvs module today so it should
work with roadrunner 0.9 and pygtk-1.99.13. But you still need to patch
the pygtk with this patch:
