Re: secure connection

Thanks for the info. I'm having a bit of trouble getting it to work, I
thought you might have some advice.

I went to the link Pedro provided and downloaded stunnel 4.20. This
extracted into a number of files and folders (auto, doc, src, and tools).
Nothing was straight forward, but some web page said I needed
libeay32.dll and another dll (whose name escapes me at the moment). I
found both of these and put them into the system32 folder. It turns
out there already was a smaller libeay32 in there, I renamed it and
saved the larger one. Should I have kept the original file?

More web advice said I needed openssl, so I tracked that down and
tried running it with the parameters suggested, but it kept complaining. 

I did find stunnel.exe in the src folder, and tried that, but when I
ran it I get this error:

2007.04.17 18:13:54 LOG3[1500:5080]: stunnel.conf: No such file or
directory (2)
 

Finally I wised up and dropped your text into a stunnel.conf file. I
didn't know where to put it so I put in the src folder with
stunnel.exe. Is that the right place?

Now when I run stunnel there seems to be no errors, but nothing
happens. I have a little icon in the bottom right tray, it says
session(s) active. BTW, where you have "my.news.server" I put
"secure.usenetserver.com", is that correct???

So it appears setting this up is beyond my expertise. Do you have any
tips for me as to what to do next? How will BNR know to go through
stunnel? 

I am even more clueless than this may suggest.
