For a long time now I have been thinking about
changing from windows 2k to linux to download from the
usenet.

Currently using Windows 2k I mainly use .nzb files
from Newzbin & binsearch to get the nzb files and
download what I want.

I do very little surfing apart from emails & finding
out what some progs actually do.

Hardare
My internet connection pc is an IBM 300PL with
"x86 Family 6 Model 7 stepping 2" and "130596 KB Ram"
which seems to do the the job under a capped download
contract from my ISP.

Currently I transfer my downloads to another pc which
I built and has higher specs (although it is a w2k
pc) which I use and enjoy.

Questions?
1. Would I be better off changing to Linux = say
Ubunto rather than staying with windows?

2. What problems would I have transferring the data
from PC1 to PC2 w2k
