I know that the BNR[2or3].ini file has a setting "NewsgroupsHistory=" and mine has "alt.binaries.movies.divx" in it, I expect that removing this will remove the trace of the groups from the search box. Just checked and it has with my BNR2 install. The same can be done with the groups using their "FilterHist=" setting in the same BNR[2or3].ini. You might be able to do the same with the History number setting on the options page, by setting it to zero or one, and then opening/closing the group, restarting BNR and going back and putting the number back, but I would just edit the .ini file they are easy :) and its the reason for having them. BUT FIRST KEEP/MAKE A COPY OF YOUR BNR.INI FILE, if not dont come back here calling me names when you fuck it up, also this has to be done while BNR is NOT running, else it will write back its settings. IMO the smart thing is to have a copy of these important files anyway. I have a RAR archive I keep in all of my BNR install folders. You can just drag the important files on to it quite often. I have a start BNR script (I think I have posted info about before like all of my BNR scripts/.bat/.cmd files) that de frags the msglst and saves the que file before then starting BNR that does this because I think that the time BNR has problems is in starting, so I can just kill it and re-start with teh save que file, a big time saver IMO.
