BNR 2 does not have the sqLite swap file I am talking about, I dont use
BNR 2 that much anymore, just for the odd .nzb so I dont think I can offer
that much real world help.

But, I would guess at the file being built/decoded/rebuilt as something to
do with it, is there a lot of space on the download drive ?

The 'File Check' settings that you say about ["All boxes are unchecked in
Options -> File Checking."] dont really have anything to do with the
building of downloaded files ? I think its more for the .csv files and
want/got filters and header refresh.
