AFAIK you need SQLite 2.x for BNR3, but the latest SQLite version is 3.x 
=> no, you should not upgrade to the latest (i.e. 3.x) version... But 
you can upgrade to the latest 2.x version...

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.
