I understand better now, I thought you were looking to track who and
when changes were made to the configuration of devices.

Assuming you do a hot dump of your database every night (I am assuming
MySQL here), can you restore your data, and only loose a day or so worth
of monitoring?

I wish I could be of more assistance to you here.  Looking forward to
the correspondence from others and/or your summary.
